Update #5: Bugs, New Features & Mobile Platform Support

Fellow adventurer, I am really glad you are stopping by, hopefully my short story about the development of Warfare Heroes game and some of the future ideas will keep you entertained for a while. First of all, some of the most interesting features I have been implementing during the last two weeks. Among others, the military units received new behaviors, besides being capable of attacking and taking position at towers, the soldiers can rest and more importantly stand the ground, as it can come super handy in some situations to prevent archers (for example) to use hit and run strategy. Furthermore, the collect feature, with respective objective task logic was implemented. The task would require from the player to collect determined items before triggering the following objectives. The video below shows the collect command in action.

Additionally, all the game dialog windows received keybinding-based navigation, as it is now the game is both playable with mouse, keyboard or combination of both (if played on PC).

Besides the features described above, I have managed (after a couple of days) to run the game on mobile phone. Most problems I had were with sharers (code which is running on GPU) and some game configuration parsing particularities on Android platform. Nevertheless, the game with all currently implemented functionalities if running perfectly on the low-end piece of hardware I own.

Finally, was fixing bugs, which kind of piled up after new feature development. I do not want you to die from boredom, so I will not be listing all of bugs I fixed during the last two weeks(15!), but some of those were actually funny, like the one in the following video!

Now a short sneak peak for the future plans. As the D-Day for this project is approaching I decided to focus a bit more on the story for the game. I have already plotted some major line I would to follow and some levels are already designed based on what I am having in mind. Nevertheless, those of you interested in participating will have a chance. In the following weeks I will try to put up some lore-related blog entries, which will be for you to get familiar with some aspects of the storyline (I do not want to spoil, but rather try to identify what could be interesting for players). I do not expect much, but any feedback, once I start blogging about the story would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time, hope to see you around!
